Implementing Regulations

(Purpose)
Article 1
These Implementing Regulations are based on the Constitution, setting the following matters in relation to operation of the Public Interest Corporation, Japan Academy of Nursing Science (hereafter referred to as “the Academy”).
(1) The amount of the membership dues specified in Constitution Article 14.1
(2) Establishment of Committees specified in Constitution Article 52.2
(3) Items specified in Constitution Article 52.4
(4) Items specified in Constitution Article 65

(Membership dues)
Article 2
The membership dues for regular members is Yen10,000/year.
 2 The membership dues for supporting members is Yen50,000/unit/year.
 3 From the membership dues of regular members, 30% or more of the membership dues is applied to operate the business for public interest purposes, and 70% or less is applied to management costs of the Academy. The distribution shall be decided by a resolution adopted by the Board of Directors each fiscal year.

(Academic Conference Planning Committee)
Article 3
The Academic Conference Planning Committee shall deliberate over the following matters and report the results to the Board of Directors.
(1) Outline of the Academic Conference
(2) Selection of presentations and recommendation of session chairpersons
(3) Other items deemed necessary to operate the Academic Conference
 2 The Academic Conference Planning Committee shall be composed of the following members.
(1) Chairperson of the Academic Conference
(2) Directors of the Board of Directors : two
(3) Councilors : two
(4) Regular members appointed by the Chairperson of the Academic Conference
 3 The Chairperson of the Academic Conference Planning Committee shall preside over the Academic Conference.
 4 For the members in Article 3.2.2-4, the term of office shall be one year and they maybe reappointed.

(Journal of Japan Academy of Nursing Science Editorial Board and Japan Journal of Nursing Science Editorial Board)
Article 4
The Academy shall establish a Journal of Japan Academy of Nursing Science Editorial Board and a Japan Journal of Nursing Science Editorial Board to edit and publish these Journals.
 2 The Journal of Japan Academy of Nursing Science Editorial Board and Japan Journal of Nursing Science Editorial Board shall be composed of the following members who have received approval by the Board of Directors.
(1) Directors of the Board of Directors : two
(2) Councilors : two
(3) Regular members : Several
 3 The Chairperson of the Journal of Japan Academy of Nursing Science Editorial Board and Japan Journal of Nursing Science Editorial Board shall be selected from among the Directors of the Board of Directors specified in Article 4.2.1 who participate on each Editorial Board.
 4 Besides the members specified in Article 4.2, the Japan Journal of Nursing Science Editorial Board can appoint an Editor-in-Chief. The Editor-in-Chief must excel in editing an English journal.
 5 Besides the members specified in Article 4.2, the Journal of Japan Academy of Nursing Science Editorial Board and Japan Journal of Nursing Science can appoint an exclusive reviewers board.
 6 The term of the members and Editor-in-Chief in Article 4.4 shall be two years and they may be reappointed.

(Selection Committee for Outstanding Manuscript Awards)
Article 5
The Academy shall establish the Selection Committee for Outstanding Manuscript Awards in order to select suitable papers.
 2 The Selection Committee for Outstanding Manuscript Awards shall be composed of Chairperson of Journal of Japan Academy of Nursing Science Editorial Board, Chairperson of Japan Journal of Nursing Science Editorial Board, and additional following members who are selected by the Board of Directors.
(1) Directors of the Board of Directors : one or more
(2) Councilors : two or more
 3 The Chairperson of the Selection Committee for Outstanding Paper Awards shall be selected from among the Directors of the Board of Directors specified in Article 5.2.1.
 4 The term of the members shall be two years and they may be reappointed.

(General Affairs Committee)
Article 6
The Academy shall establish a General Affairs Committee to ascertain that Academy entrance qualifications are fulfilled, and to ensure smooth administration of membership-related functions and Office operations.
 2 The General Affairs Committee shall be composed of the following members approved by the Board of Directors.
(1) Directors of the Board of Directors : two
(2) Councilor : one
 3 The Chairperson of the General Affairs Committee shall be selected from among the Directors of the Board of Directors.
 4 The term of the members shall be two years and they may be reappointed.

(Other Committees)
Article 7
The Academy shall also establish the following Committees, with each committee comprised of members selected by the Board of Directors.
(1) Steering Committee for Scientific Nursing Terminology
(2) International Activity Promotion Committee
(3) Research/Scientific Information Committee
(4) Nursing Ethics Committee
(5) Social Contribution Committee
(6) Public Relations Committee
(7) Research Ethics Review Committee
(8) JANS Young Scientists’ Network
(9) Research Conflict of Interest Committee
 2 In addition to the committees mentioned in Article 7.1, other committees may be established for a limited period of time when considered necessary by the Board of Directors.
 3 The Chairperson of the Committees listed in Article 7.1-2 shall be selected in each Committee from among the Directors of the Board who participate in the Committee.
 4 The term of the members of the Committees listed in Article 7.1-2 shall be two years and they may be reappointed.

(Minutes of General Assembly)
Article 8
Minutes of the General Assembly must include the following matters.
(1) Date and venue of the meeting
(2) The total number of Regular members, and the total number of attending Regular members. (Number of attending Regular members in accordance with Constitution Article 47 must be separately noted.)
(3) Agenda and resolutions
(4) Outline of discussion and the results
(5) Approval of the minutes secretaries
 2 The minutes must be promptly published in the Journals of the Academy and on the website of the Academy.

(Amendments to the Implementing Regulations)
Article 9
Amendments to the Implementing Regulations shall be made by resolutions of the Board of Directors.
 2 Irrespective of Article 9.1, amendments to Article 2 of these Implementing Regulations require approval of the Councilors meeting.

Supplementary Provisions
These Implementing Regulations take effect from January 30, 2007.

Supplementary Provisions
Amendment of these Implementing Regulations takes effect from April 1, 2009.

Supplementary Provisions
Amendment of these Implementing Regulations takes effect from January 1, 2010.

Amendment of these Implementing Regulations takes effect from August 8, 2010.
